Inflatable Pool vs Summer Heat

While some friends were out there on the beaches and resorts for their Summer get away, we had an inflatable pool at home to fight summer heat. We chose to stay home this Holy Week to spend time together, and to have private moments of contemplation.

It was amazing how much T I M E you could "earn" when you didn't have to pack bags, carry them around (with the kids) and unpack them ... twice: to and from the destination. We would however have our own share of all that in the following week.

We bought our inflatable pool from Toy Kingdom at Virra Mall three years ago. By then, it costed us P1,200; plus another P800 for the manual pump. It was all worth it. We used this inflatable pool several times in one summer alone, especially when temperatures go 35.

The length of the inflatable pool we bought was longer than my height. That meant I could "swim" in it ^_^ HAHA. It just felt good when you could actually stretch yourself inside the pool in the middle of a hot day, with your entire family with you. While I was seated beside my wife in the pool, my son was demonstrating at the other end of the pool how he could "swim" ^_^

Dipping myself inside that pool actually gave me the "resort" feeling. I didn't know where that came from; but most probably it came from the fact that I was in that pool with my family, which would be the case in any resort anyway. (Come to think of it, we didn't need to spend money on resorts after all, did we? ^_^)

Dipping yourself in that pool at night could also help you commune with the universe. While neighbors turned their air-cons on, I could enjoy the cool water of the pool while watching the stars twinkle above. That was something you wouldn't do for a prolonged period outside the pool, would you?

The inflatable pool was was made of three layers of tubes. The lowermost tube got punctured a few days ago; yet my family was still able to inflate the upper two tubes and went on "swimming" in the pool. (I fixed the punctured tube yesterday using an adhesive set worth P39. That set could still fix three more future punctures.)

I still saw the same inflatable pool in Toy Kingdom a few days ago.  These pools came many sizes, and you'd more likely see these inflatable pools in the market year in and year out.

Wanna beat summer heat? Try inflatable pools, then share with us your story.
