Obama Family Vacation Raised Eyebrows?

The first family in the United States clearly had fun in their latest vacation. But fun with the family seems to have raised some eyebrows in that country. Hey, I'm suffering. Don't rest, Mr. President!

BAR HARBOR, MAINE -- President Obama and his family aren't just getting outside the Beltway on their brief vacation here -- they're getting outside, period.

Since their arrival Friday afternoon, the Obamas have been biking, hiking and boating their way around Mount Desert Island, the third-largest island on the Eastern Seaboard and home to the 47,000-acre Acadia National Park

Then, towards the end it said,
"Think about what these stalling tactics mean for the millions of Americans who've lost their jobs since the recession began. Over the past several weeks, more than 2 million of them have seen their unemployment insurance expire. For many, it was the only way to make ends meet while searching for work -- the only way to cover rent, utilities, even food," he said.
Clearly the reporter of this story did not question the right of the first family to spend their time together. But for purposes perhaps of balanced reporting, it also aired the side of those complaining.

Given this, does anyone still want to be President?

What I see here is a father who spends time with his family, regardless of how busy his schedule is. No more, no less. If the President of the most powerful country in the world spends time with his wife and kids, why should anyone else do less?

Fatherhood exempts no one, President or otherwise. For all I care, Obama may actually be showing the American people and the world a few things about parenting and being a family man. Yeah, we definitely need to hear, or rather, see, more of family matters in blogosphere right now.
